Description

The annual Patriotic Program takes place again this year at Millennium Plaza.

Beginning at 8 a.m. on July 4, members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2536, American Legion John Franklin Miller Post 37, American Legion Skwiat Post 451, and the Disabled American Veterans Post 23 will participate posting colors, and the VFW Post honor guard will fire a 21-gun salute, according to event chairman Justine Venice. The Indiana State Prison honor guard also has been invited. Event is at Millennium Plaza, Washington Park, Michigan City, Indiana. In case of rain-out, meet at the Senior Center.

Mayor Ron Meer will present Michigan City Patriotic Medals to local residents who have served in the defense of the homeland since September 11, 2001. Ted Yagelski will lead the prayers.
