| Title: | The BIG Parade |
| When: | June 30, 2012 11:00am - 1:00pm |
| Location: | Ames Field, Michigan City, Indiana |
| Description: | Welcome to the annual Michigan City Summer Festival Parade being held along Franklin Street from 10th St. to Ames Field. Crowds are often four and five deep on the sidewalks along the parade route. Spectators arrive early to get choice spots. Show starts at 11am sharp. On December 15, 2011, the Iraq War came to a close and the last of the American soldiers in the country made their way home. Many of those soldiers were from Michigan City and the surrounding area. On June 30, 2012, the Michigan City Summer Festival plans to honor area Iraq War veterans in one of the largest patriotic parades in Northwest Indiana. It is a pleasure to announce the new theme for the Michigan City Big Parade, "Boom Boom Boom: A Salute to Veterans of the Iraq War". See you there! To participate in this event, the form is available here: http://mcsummerfest.org/index.php/summer-festival-events/21-the-big-parade-and-the-big-show#forms |
